Corn Exchange Brighton Dome

Commercial — Brighton — Westridge Construction

Transforming the Grade 1 listed Brighton Dome Corn Exchange and the Grade 2 listed Studio Theatre.

The Corn Exchange was formerly the Prince Regent’s Riding House and has a fantastic history dating back over 200 years.

The refurbishment will bring more choice of shows, better space for artists, open spaces and outstanding amenities.

NRT Building Services Group are contracted to install the complete electrical installation to include:

  • Power
  • Data
  • Containment
  • State of the Art LED Lighting Systems
  • Lightning Protection
  • Life Safety Systems

Working closely with the build team this project has some challenges. As the headlines stated on the BBC news works were temporarily paused after a 200 year old Quaker burial site was discovered.

The containment works are extensive with the cable ways in the Corn Exchange alone being 50mm flexible conduit running from the basement to the roof. This allows all the required cabling to be installed at high level for sound, lighting and data.
